Why the Sun Runs from the Land.
The sky wanted to be every colour, confused it settled for a flamed red stretch upon the dying day. The sun was tired, bored of the land it slowly walked across it moved to another, as it forever does, leaving darkness and moonlight in its wake. The land turned begging again for its light but it was too late, the nocturnal creatures that lived on its back woke up to the starlit universe above them. If it were to catch up with the sun they would surely go insane. Regardless, the land wanted its light; it chased the sun trying to make the night go away. Begging for another chance of a clear day, it shouted to the sun that there won’t be clouds to block its light this time, it asked if it would return. But the sun kept moving, as did the land hoping that the sun would hear its words. The land cried. Water leaked from the clouds creating a downpour of rain, the crops suckled up the moisture allowing their roots to grow, the roots themselves began to cling on to the land, explaining this was natural, this was what needed to happen, expressing that they understood why the land was upset but it had to let the sun leave. But the land did not listen and instead found itself in pain from the roots that dug inside it, expressing its hurt, it allowed the dogs to howl, the crickets to sing, the winds to roar. It wanted its sun.
Soon however, the land was defeated. It let the life of the night live on its back, but soon the nightlife grew tired. Their energy had depleted and so had the lands, but as it slumbered the sun returned. The land was upset, it had made new friends with the creatures of the night, it begged the sun to go, threatened it with clouds of thunder, with fog and hail, chasing the sun away. Forever the land was never complacent, forever the land chased away everything it needed.
